document outlines the organization's strategy and commitment to supporting
individuals with physical disabilities. Our goal is to create an inclusive and
supportive environment that positively impacts their lives.
Objectives
- To establish
necessary infrastructure to accommodate persons with physical
disabilities.
- To ensure inclusive
access to higher education institutions for students with physical
disabilities.
- To provide
barrier-free access for all activities, removing hindrances and obstacles.
Academics
- Provide students with
a conducive learning environment, including comfortable seating in
classrooms and laboratories.
- Utilize accessible
resources such as e-books, high-resolution study material, and
zoomed/maximized e-content.
- Offer a book bank
facility on a case-by-case basis.
Examinations
- Provide necessary
assistance to students during examinations as directed by the competent
authority.
- Allow additional time
for students according to regulatory guidelines.
- Arrange for a scribe
on a case-by-case basis.
- Provide separate
evaluation and special provisions as required on a case-by-case basis.
Other
Regulations
- Offer human
assistance for day-to-day activities as needed.
- Ensure the provision
of barrier-free washrooms, ramp access, and lifts.
- Make screen reader
software available on the website and other resources.
The
Policy Document has been effective since August 11, 2023, and will be subject
to review after five years or as required.
