The examination section plays a crucial role in the
overall examination process. Here are some key responsibilities and functions
of the examination section:
- Providing a healthy examination
environment: The examination section is responsible for ensuring that the
examination venue provides a conducive and fair environment for all
candidates. This includes maintaining proper seating arrangements,
appropriate lighting, temperature control, and other factors that
contribute to a comfortable and focused atmosphere for the examinees.
- Prevention of malpractices: One of the
primary roles of the examination section is to prevent any form of
malpractice during the examination. This involves implementing strict
security measures to deter cheating, such as monitoring the examination
halls, conducting thorough inspections of candidates and their belongings,
and taking necessary measures to detect and address any suspicious
activities.
- Coordinating examination activities: The
examination section is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the
examination process. This includes creating and managing examination
schedules, ensuring that necessary resources and materials are available at
the examination centers, and coordinating with other departments or
institutions involved in the examination process.
- Handling examination stationary: The
examination section takes care of the recording and handling of
examination stationary before and after the examination. This involves
securely storing and distributing examination papers, answer sheets,
question booklets, and other related materials. Proper organization and
storage are important to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of the
examination materials.
- Communication and logistics: The
examination section often serves as the point of contact for candidates,
faculty, and other stakeholders regarding examination-related queries,
clarifications, and logistical arrangements. They may provide information
on examination rules and regulations, registration procedures, examination
venues, and other relevant details.
- Result processing: After the examination,
the examination section is responsible for collecting the answer sheets
and other evaluation materials, coordinating the grading process, and
ensuring accurate and timely result processing. This may involve working
closely with faculty members or external examiners to ensure the proper
evaluation of answer sheets and the determination of final results.
Overall, the examination
section plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and fair conduct of
examinations, maintaining the security and confidentiality of examination
materials, and facilitating the efficient processing of results.
The scheme for Continuous Internal
Evaluation (CIE) for
undergraduate (UG) courses at an institution affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb
Ambedkar Technological University, Lonere (DBATU) is as follows:
- Evaluation Procedures: The evaluation process follows
the guidelines defined by the university. The teacher selects a variety of
procedures for examination, which may include: a) Written tests b) Term
papers c) Seminar presentations d) Short quizzes e) Assignments f)
Extension work g) Open book tests h) Mini research projects by individual
learners or groups of learners
- Continuous Assessment for Theory: The continuous
assessment for theory courses is inclusive of both attendance and
assessments. Attendance carries a weightage of 40%, while assessments
(three tests) carry a weightage of 60%. Assessments can be based on quizzes,
assignments, open book tests, field work, group discussions, and seminars.
- Continuous Evaluation in Practical’s: The continuous
evaluation for practical courses is based on practical skills, record
writing, and viva voce and attendance.
- Continuous Evaluation Booklet: The institute provides a
continuous evaluation booklet for every subject. Students are required to
maintain this booklet and submit it at the end of the semester.
Assessments are to be written by students in this booklet.
- Weekly Assessments: Assessments are conducted every
week for every subject. Students are expected to write these assessments
in the continuous evaluation booklet provided to them.
- Sessional Question Papers: The subject teachers are
responsible for framing sessional question papers based on Bloom's
taxonomy. The questions are mapped to attain the course outcomes and
program outcomes.
- Mandatory Course and Examination: It is mandatory for
students to take the course and examination for Physical Education in the
first year of Bachelor of Pharmacy (F. Y. B. Pharm).
- Environmental Science Course: In the third semester of
Bachelor of Pharmacy (S. Y. B. Pharm), a course on Environmental Science
is conducted and evaluated based on a Field Visit Report and a written
examination.
These guidelines ensure that continuous
assessment and evaluation are carried out throughout the semester, providing a
comprehensive evaluation of the students' progress and understanding in the UG
courses.

Standard
of passing:
Promotion
and award of grades
A student shall be declared PASS and
eligible for getting grade in a course of B.Pharm. Program if he/she secures at
least 50% marks in that particular course including internal assessment. For
example, to be declared as PASS and to get grade, the student has to secure a
minimum of 50 marks for the total of 100 including continuous mode of
assessment and end semester theory examination and has to secure a minimum of
25 marks for the total 50 including internal assessment and end semester
practical examination.
Carry forward of marks
In case a student fails to secure the
minimum 50% in any Theory or Practical course, then he/she shall reappear for
the end semester examination of that course. However his/her marks of the
Internal Assessment shall be carried over and he/she shall be entitled for
grade obtained by him/her on passing.
Improvement of internal assessment
A student shall have the opportunity to
improve his/her performance only once in the Sessional exam component of the
internal assessment. The re-conduct of the Sessional exam shall be completed
before the commencement of next end semester theory examinations.
Re-examination of end semester
examinations
Reexamination of end semester
examination shall be conducted as per the schedule given in table XIII. The
exact dates of examinations shall be notified from time to time
Carry forward Rules:
- Improvement of Class: Students are allowed to improve
their class at the Final Year level by reappearing for the subjects they
have not cleared. This usually applies to a minimum of three theory
subjects from that examination.
- ATKT (Allowed to Keep Terms): The
rules regarding ATKT and progression to the next class are determined and
implemented by the University. These rules specify the conditions under
which students are allowed to progress to the next class despite not
clearing all subjects in the current class.
"Internal Examination Grievance
Resolution Mechanism
- Students who are unable to participate in continuous
assessment and sessional examinations due to medical reasons may be
granted permission to take a re-examination. This permission must be
obtained in advance from the Head of the Department (HOD) and the College
Examination Officer. The student should submit an application and provide
the necessary documents to the relevant authority.
- Students who have obtained less than 50% aggregate in
the university examination or wish to improve their class/grade will be
given the opportunity to appear for the theory subjects of the respective
semester or class. The students can submit their applications within the
specified timeline, and a schedule for improvement sessional examinations
will be arranged. These examinations will follow the prescribed pattern.
"External Examination Grievance
Resolution Mechanism
- To apply for examinations, students must register on
the university web portal using a unique USER ID and mobile number along
with password in student login at DBATU MIS portal. This is necessary as
the university communicates examination details through email and SMS
alerts.
- Students should contact their Class teacher/Examination
team for any issues related to examinations, such as errors in names
(spelling mistakes or name changes). The examination team handles
grievances related to the examination application form. College
examination officers communicate students' grievances through mail or
letters.
- During university examinations, any issues regarding
the ongoing examination should be reported to the examination team. They
will then communicate the matter to the university for necessary
corrective action.
- If a student experiences an accidental mishap or is
physically challenged, they will be allowed to use a scribe facility.
Separate seating arrangements will be made for them, and an additional 20
minutes per hour will be allotted for their examination.
- After the university results are declared, students who
are not satisfied with their performance can apply for photocopies for
verification. They can then proceed with the revaluation process according
to the university's procedure.
Guidelines for Code of Conduct during
Examinations:
